individual records published

Today IROPO publishes aggregate statistics only. Individual listings begin after legal review, a tested verification workflow and a working correction process.

Why there are no names yet

Publishing information about identifiable people carries privacy, defamation and jurisdiction-specific legal risk. Records can be wrong, outdated, sealed or expunged, and a mistaken listing can follow someone for years.

IROPO's roadmap puts legal review, governance and a dispute process before any public listing. Until then, the most reliable place to check a person is a registry run by a government, listed below.

Publication policy

What it will take to be listed

These rules are enforced in code: the data pipeline refuses to publish any record that does not meet them.

  1. Adjudicated cases only

A conviction, guilty plea or no-contest plea for an animal cruelty offense. Arrests, charges, dismissed and pending cases are never listed.

  2. Official sources

Every record cites at least one court record or government registry. News coverage can support a record but can never establish one.

  3. Two-person verification

Two independent reviewers confirm the person's identity and the case details against the official source before anything is published.

  4. Full provenance

Each record keeps its sources, retrieval dates, reviewers and a complete change history, so anyone can trace where it came from.

  5. Time limits

Listings follow the retention rules of the jurisdiction that decided the case and expire automatically. Expunged, sealed or overturned cases come down.

  6. Right to respond

Anyone listed can dispute a record. Disputed records are hidden while they are reviewed, with a published response time.

Record format

What a record will contain

The canonical record is defined as a JSON Schema so every importer, reviewer and tool uses the same fields.
